Rachel Garcia is a choreographer, dancer, and teacher born and raised in Reno, Nevada. She moved to the Bay Area to attend Saint Mary's College of California (SMC) and graduated with a B.A. in Sociology and Dance. There, she trained with the SMC Dance Company and SMC Spirit Team. Her piece "Interstellar Realm," was chosen to represent SMC at the American College Dance Association and nominated for Jacob's Pillow. Rachel has collaborated with several Bay Area artists, including Stranger Lover Dreamer, INQ, West Edge Opera, Deborah Slater Dance Theater, Hunniez, Nancy Karp + Dancers, and more. Rachel is the founder and co-director of CDE. Additionally, Rachel has a passion for, and experiences in arts administration, social justice, and dance education through skillshops, directing, launching events, and fundraising.
